The Sneaks Family Category of Custom Products Line For My "It's Raining Doll Parties Gallery"

I had saved some of one of my grandsons sneakers from the time he was a baby until he was in elementary school and had been itching to use them for something I was creating.

The beauty of creating dolls is they can be anything you want and be any stretch of the imagination, which is just fine.  Remember, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Back in 2007 I decided to design 4 boy dolls based on my four grandsons.  Two of my grandsons were twins, the other two were 14 years apart but I decided to go with two sets of twins for this design.

So, I decided to use the sneakers and go with four boys heads with sneaker bodies who loved playing baseball.  The funny part of this is none of my grandsons liked or played baseball.  The sneakers just seemed to call for baseball players more than football, basketball, or soccer players.  Plus, I had four miniature wood bats which helped swing the idea that way.  So, baseball players it was and "The Sneaks Family" was born.

It's always a wild and crazy scene at the "Sneaks Family" house with four young boys running around. Four young boys would be bad enough, but four young boys consisting of two sets of fraternal twins with one set aged 7 and the other set aged 8 - well, that's just plain crazy.

While the "Sneaks Family" of two sets of fraternal twins are not physically identical they do bear enough of a similar physical appearance that it is hard at times to tell them apart.

"Slammin Ryan Sneaks" and "Stealin Base Devin Sneaks" are the fraternal twins age 7. "Nicholas Fast Ball Sneaks" and "Home Run Brian Sneaks" are the fraternal twins age 8. If you can tell any of them apart we congratulate you.

So, while they are a little bit different physically that's where the difference ends. They are identical in likes, dislikes, energy levels, attitudes, intelligence, and strength. They are all highly intelligent boys who just love to rough house and play their favorite sport - baseball.

It's always a wild and crazy scene at the "Sneaks Family" house with four young boys running around so you can imagine how excited they are by the release of their revised custom fabric designs, custom gift wrap, birthday party products and home decor products. They can't sit down.

However, many of their friends are "girls" who love baseball as much as they do so I also created 5 different designs that are suitable for either "boys" or for "girls."

Back in 2015 I created my first custom products for little boys and girls birthday parties and home decor.  It has been awhile since I revised them so I decided it was time to create some new designs for my It's Raining Doll Parties Gallery and for my Linda Walsh Originals Spoonflower It's Raining Doll Parties Fabric Designs Collection and to retire a few others.

I ended up creating the ten new designs shown in the collage above.  The Sneaks Family loved their new designs so they were happy.

Using these ten designs I created a The Sneaks Family Designs Category for creating custom products in my It's Raining Doll Parties Gallery.

The Hawk Family Category of Custom Products Line For It's Raining Doll Parties Gallery

The Hawk Family just loves to create and after creating their We Love Books Hawk designs were itching to create some other new designs.  Given the "dollies" can create a lot of ruckus in my house I decided to appease them and create some additional new designs for my It's Raining Doll Parties Gallery and for my Linda Walsh Originals Spoonflower It's Raining Doll Parties Fabric Designs Collection.

In thinking about some other designs for the Hawk Family I decided to focus these new designs around the members of the Hawk family, flowers, birds, and heart.  I ended up creating the six new designs shown in the collage above.  The Hawk Family loved their new designs so there was no ruckus in my house for now.

Using these six designs I created a The Hawk Family Designs Category for creating custom products in my It's Raining Doll Parties Gallery.

Quick and Easy Christmas and Winter Cut and Sew Ornaments For Crafting Fun

A lot of crafters Christmas and winter due to all the wonderful decorations you can make.  Santa's, Mrs. Claus, angels, carolers, gingerbread-men, Christmas trees, snowmen, snow-ladies and snow covered trees.

So, when I was designing my Christmas and winter custom fabrics I decided to add 4 new cut and sew Christmas doll ornament groups and 3 new cut and sew winter doll ornament groups.  For the winter groups there are 37 different ornaments and for the winter groups there are 23 different ornaments.

If you don't know what cut and sew dolls are they are a great sewing tool for kids and a quick and easy ornament to make for decorations.  Plus, they're great ornaments to sell at local church fairs and craft shows.

Just think of all the fun you and your family can have making your Christmas and winter ornament decorations.

My New Winter Seasonal Custom Product Designs

I just love the fall season but know that when it comes around snow is just around the corner.

I hate snow and snow shoveling which is a little strange for a New Englander....lol  What can you do?  Advancing age changes one's perspective....lol

While I dislike the outdoor parts of the season, being home all the time does afford me lots of time for crafts and crafting all sorts of things.

This year I decided to start with designing some new winter fabrics and custom products for  for the Winter Seasonal Category of my Linda Walsh Originals Designs Gallery and for my Linda Walsh Originals Spoonflower Winter Seasonal Fabric Designs Collection.

There are six sub-categories in my Winter Seasonal Category: four new winter design sub-categories, as shown in the pictures below, and a sub-category for Winter Fabric Designs and a sub-category for Winter Crafting Supplies .

My New Winter Birds and Birdhouses Designs

I just love whimsical bird designs and have created many birds and birdhouses designs for the different seasons over the year.

So, while I was designing some new custom fabrics I decided that I should create some custom fabric designs with simple birds and birdhouses designs in a whimsical winter seasonal design for the Winter Seasonal Category of my Linda Walsh Originals Designs Gallery and for my Linda Walsh Originals Spoonflower Winter Seasonal Fabric Designs Collection.

So, using these three designs I created a Winter Birds and Birdhouses Designs Category utilizing these designs.

My New Winter Seasonal Church Designs

When I was a child the first church I can remember my family going to was a typical New England white church with a steeple.  Since then I've always loved the look of this type of church.  They represent pure New England simplicity and are just beautiful.

As you all know at Christmas time every year we always had a Christmas decoration craft.  Well, one year I wanted to do a white steeple church out of Styrofoam and my Dad agreed to help me with this.  We wanted to build a church big enough to hold a lighted angel inside.

I was thrilled he wanted to help me as he was a meticulous craftsman so I knew whatever we would be working on would come out wonderfully.

I can't remember exactly how long it to to build this but it was a few days.  As my Dad was so meticulous about his crafts he spent a long time carefully carving the curve of the church steeple so it was perfect and carving the arch for the windows.  We wanted the church to have arched windows and stained glass mosaic type windows.  We would be using colored pieces of plastic to create this effect.

When we had finished putting it together and the glue had dried we put it out with the lighted angel inside.  It glowed beautifully and the light shown through the side windows that my Dad had meticulously carved.

We surrounded the church with a chorus of Gurley church choir wax figures, angels, and trees.  It looked wonderful and was my favorite Christmas decoration for many, many years.

Unfortunately, the Styrofoam did not survive the years and crumbled over time. I don't know what happened to the Gurley wax candles.  They certainly would be a wonderful vintage Christmas decoration 50+ years later.

My New Snowmen & Snow-ladies Winter Seasonal Designs

I hate snow but I just love snowmen.  So while I was designing some new custom fabrics I decided that I should create some custom fabric designs with adorable snowmen and snow-ladies in several whimsical winter seasonal designs for the Winter Seasonal Category of my Linda Walsh Originals Designs Gallery and for my Linda Walsh Originals Spoonflower Winter Seasonal Fabric Designs Collection.

I ended up creating two designs, shown in the collage above and used those designs to create a Snowmen & Snow-ladies Designs Category.

I ended up creating the three designs shown in the collage above.  So, using these three designs I created a Winter Tree Designs Category for my custom products.

My New Crafts Supplies For Crafting, Scrap-booking, Rubber Stamping, and Mixed Media Enthusiasts

Last year when I was creating some mixed media dolls and woodcraft's I found the need for a specific design for some stickers I wanted to include on my  mixed media creations and decided to create some of my own based on my own graphic designs.

Well, like everything else I do, designing some turned into designing many.  As a result I ended up creating all sorts of crafting supplies for my " Linda Walsh Originals Designs" galleries.

Each of the design categories for my galleries have a crafting supplies category and/or custom fabric designs category.  So far, I've created vinyl stickers, scrapbook paper, rubber stamps, paper stickers, wall decals, etc.  Hopefully, there will be more soon.

I hope you enjoy all  the crafting supplies and custom fabric designs I've created so far.  They are as follows:

My New Jack-O-Lantern Halloween Custom Products Category

In a two weeks the scariest holiday of the year will be upon us - Halloween.

Given the Covid epidemic in the world right now there won't be trick or treaters in a lot of places coming around this year, at least not where we are.

I'm sure all the kids will be disappointed but that doesn't mean you still can't make this a wonderfully scary holiday for them.  They can still trick or treat at their own home.  You can have a little mini Halloween party of your own with your kids at your house.

It doesn't mean you can't have as many scary decorations around your house, like ghosts, goblins, and witches - Oh! My!

Just think of all the possibilities for a wonderful little mini party, wonderful trick or treat mini hunt, and wonderful Halloween crafting activities you can have with your kids.  The parties might just be for the immediate family members but that doesn't diminish the enthusiasm for a scary, fun-filled time.

So, with Halloween in mind I decided to create a new Jack-O-Lantern Design category for the Halloween Holiday Category of  my "Linda Walsh Originals Designs Gallery"

I decided to create custom products like: fabric, tablecloths, bath towels, kitchen towels, runners, place-mats, gift wrap and so much more for my new jack-o-lantern design category.

My three new designs coordinate perfectly with each other so you can still have complementing product designs no matter which one of the different designs you buy.  And, they coordinate with all our other Halloween designs.

I also designed all sorts of Halloween clothing like t-shirts for the whole family, baby bodysuits, women's socks and leggings and more.  Just because you're home it doesn't mean you can't dress for the scary occasion.

You might not need all the different custom products I have in my new Jack-O-Lantern Design category this year, but think of all the fun you can have planning next year's Halloween holiday season.  Hopefully, by then, we'll all be back to normal.

Gotta Love Fall Custom Product Decorations

I love decorating for the fall season.

With the fall you get cool, windy days, apple picking, apple cider, pumpkin harvests, hayrides and sunflowers. So many things to love about this season.  I love to bring the outdoor fall season into my home which accounts for all the fall decorations I have.

Instead of making my own handmade decorations for the fall season this year I decided to buy some of the designs I had created for the Fall Seasonal category of my Linda Walsh Originals Designs Gallery

I seem to be partial to my Fall Leaves Designs as well as my cheery Sunflowers, Leaves and Pumpkins Designs.

My Fall Leaves Designs section is filled with all sorts of wonderful custom decorating and everyday products for each of the 7 leaf designs.

I just love the dark brown leaf design and light tan leaf design and ordered several of my custom products for my own decorating purposes this fall.  Here's what I bought:

I Had To Change My Nurses Custom Fabric Designs

Even after being online for 16 years you can still be surprised.  Well, at least I can.

On August 25th I was notified by Spoonflower that twelve of my nurses designs had been removed from my Spoonflower account.

I thought, "What!  They were all my original designs from close to a decade ago based on the nurse handmade dolls I had designed and made years ago. What could possibly be in violation?"

Well, it turns out I had made a mistake in the design that I was totally unaware of and never gave any thought to.  I would never have thought what they were citing would ever have been a problem.

Quick and Easy Adorable Cut and Sew Halloween Ornaments

A lot of crafters LOVE Halloween due to all the wonderful decorations you can make.  Ghosts, witches, Frankenstein's and Monsters! Oh! My!

So, when I was designing my Halloween custom fabrics I decided to add 11 new cut and sew Halloween doll ornaments.

If you don't know what cut and sew dolls are they are a great sewing tool for kids and a quick and easy ornament to make for decorations.  Plus, they're great ornaments to sell at local church fairs and craft shows.

Just think of all the fun you and your family can have making your ghost, witch and Frankenstein ornament decorations.

One Halloween Witch, Ghost and Frankenstein Cut & Sew Doll Ornaments Group fat quarter will make one ornament each of the 11 ornaments shown above.  If you purchase one yard of fabric that will make 4 ornaments each.

There are two ways you can make your cut and sew Halloween ornaments: Machine stitch (as shown in the picture at the beginning of this post) or blanket stitching around the edges ( as shown in the picture below.)

Cut and Sew Kit Finishing Instructions Per Piece

Additional Supplies Needed

Poly-fil
Sewing Thread
Sewing Needle
Color Coordinating DMC Embroidery Floss For The Hanger For Each Piece

1)  Cut the two pieces along the dotted lines.
2)  Place right sides together and sew 1/8” away from outer doll line leaving a small opening on the bottom for turning.
3)  Trim seam and clip edges.
4)  Turn right side out and stuff with poly-fil.
5)  Hand sew small opening closed with the sewing thread.
6)  Add a hanger to the top of the piece with 6 strands of the color coordinating DMC embroidery floss.

Alternative Method #1 For Blanket Stitch Finishing Each Piece Along The Edges:

Additional Supplies Needed

Warm and Natural or Batting
Embroidery Needle
Color Coordinating DMC Embroidery Floss For Each Piece

1)  Cut the two pieces along the dotted lines.
2)  Using the front doll piece as a guide cut two pieces out of warm and natural or batting.
3)  Place the two doll pieces wrong sides together and then insert  the warm and natural or batting pieces in between the two pieces and pin along the sides to hold.
4)  Trim the edges so the pieces and warm and natural or batting  outer edges are even.
5)  Blanket stitch  1/8” - 1/4” away from outer edges with 6 strands of color coordinating DMC embroidery floss.
6)  Add a hanger to the top of the piece with 6 strands of color coordinating DMC embroidery floss.

If you like this adorable group of cut and sew doll ornaments I also have two other cut and sew doll ornaments groups for the fall, Halloween and Thanksgiving decorating season:

Time to get sewing! Time to start crafting!  Time for decorating!  Ghost,  goblins and witches! Oh! My! Happy Halloween!
